Energy & Carbon Management
Managing Carbon is a consultancy working in the areas of energy and carbon management. We help businesses and organisations increase their profitability through energy and carbon management. We also advise our clients on how to make the most of the resulting opportunities so as to maximise sales and market share.
Significant changes will occur over the next 5, 10, 15 years. Many businesses, if they are to survive, will need to change and those that prepare and embrace the changes can thrive. Managing Carbon helps organisations to make the transition to the low carbon economy. We make businesses more sustainable.
Rising energy costs, increased carbon-related legislation and concern for the environment by stakeholders, means that businesses will need to pay more attention to their energy usage and carbon emissions.
This should be viewed positively by organisations. Indeed by being proactive in the area of carbon management and using this as a vehicle for changing the way the business operates and thinks, companies can create significant competitive advantage.

The purpose of introducing Display Energy Certificates (DEC’s) is to raise public awareness of energy use and to inform visitors to public buildings about the energy use of a building. DEC’s provide an energy rating of the building from A to G, where A is very efficient and G is the least efficient and are based on the actual amount of metered energy used by the building over a period of 12 months. An affected organisation must display a DEC in a prominent place clearly visible to the public and have in its possession or control a valid Advisory Report. This report contains recommendations for improving the energy performance of the building. Affected organisations have buildings, with a total useful floor area currently greater than 1000m2, (it is believed that this will reduce significantly later this year), occupied either by a public authority or an institution providing a public service to large number of people and therefore frequently visited by those persons.
